You may be aware that we have been raising funds to repair the chimney on our stunning Grade ii listed preschool and Before/After School Club building. We have been awarded a generous grant from The Harpur Trust to help us on our way along with a lot of local support.
The work has now been completed. As previously explained, we had a delay in completion due to the state of the damage to the chimney and difficulty sourcing the additional materials needed for our beautiful building. We needed extra patience, with each stage needing to be approved again by the council to make sure we were working in keeping with our special building.
ATP Building and Maintenance Limited did the work for us and were determined to keep the project on task meeting all the requirements of the regulators.
We were lucky enough to have Nick and team take photos for us as at each stage as the work was ongoing and we are happy to share them with you now. To finally see up close what all the fundraising and patience was for has been a relief and we are really happy it is now safe and looking pretty again for all the children. It looks lovely.
A massive thank you to ATP Building and Maintenance Limited who did the work for us and went above and beyond to ensure we didn’t spend more than our budget despite rising costs as the job progressed.
Thank you to @theharpurtrust for their generous grant towards our project.
Thank you also to the Ward Fund from Bedford Council who supported our efforts with a fantastic donation.
And finally a huge thank you to all families and local people in Turvey who supported every fundraiser we have had since began set our target all that time ago. From the quizzes, to raffles, the sponsored Toddle Waddle, to our Easter Trail and many many other ways. We thank you all so much.
